About The Position

Boart Longyear is seeking a Driller - Sonic to provide semi-skilled, labor-intensive assistance across a wide spectrum of drilling operations in an efficient and safe manner. This role involves various drilling methods including core, sonic, rotary, or percussive drilling rigs, and may include the operation of simple equipment/machinery. The Driller is responsible for the general condition and optimal life of all site equipment and tools, accurately locating the collar of the hole, ensuring correct alignment with front and back sites, managing offsets, depth, and setting the drill at the correct angle. This position may also involve training new drillers in a safe environment and performing surveys according to client specifications.

Requirements

• Typically requires a High School diploma or GED or equivalent
• A minimum of 3+ years of directly related experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides semi-skilled labour intensive assistance across a wide spectrum of drilling operations in an efficient and safe manner.
• Operations could include core, sonic, rotary, or percussive drilling rig.
• This could include the operation of simple equipment/machinery.
• Responsible for general condition and obtaining optimum life out of all site equipment and tools.
• Responsible for location of the collar of the hole, ensuring correct alignment with front and back sites, offsets, depth and setting of the drill at the correct angle.
• May be responsible for the training of new drillers in a safe environment.
• Performs surveys according to client.
