About The Position
Under general supervision, the Drill Bit Fabricator performs manufacturing and assembly operations for fixed cutter drill bits, including general assembly, mold fabrication, and brazing. The role involves fabricating molds and sand castings, forming waterways, loading bit molds with materials, and operating and monitoring a furnace according to process specifications. The employee performs assigned work and assists others as directed. The position is based at 16548 Donwick Drive, Conroe, Texas, 77385. The work shift is Monday through Thursday, 4:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.; overtime may be required based on business needs. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Requirements
- Two years of experience in Bit Fabrication.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing and shop work environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform manufacturing and assembly operations for fixed cutter drill bits, including general assembly, mold fabrication, and brazing.
- Grind and fill the inside of graphite molds and form sand and clay components to contours specified by engineering design requirements.
- Fabricate sand castings for junk slots and fluid entry areas, and use clay to form contoured waterways.
- Use special equipment to load bit molds with powdered metals, steel blanks, catalyst, and flux to achieve the desired compaction.
- Load and unload the furnace and monitor furnace temperatures to meet process specifications.
- Perform own work and provide assistance to others as directed.
