About The Position

CEDA is looking to hire Dredge Operators within our Tailings Management & Environmental Solutions division for a project in Northern Manitoba starting mid-August! This role involves operating and monitoring dredges, pumps, pipelines, and associated equipment to support safe and efficient production. You will perform dredging activities, manage deposition areas and fluid systems, and operate other heavy equipment as needed. The position also requires conducting routine equipment inspections, performing basic maintenance, and assisting other project personnel. Maintaining accurate records, participating in safety meetings, and ensuring a safe work environment are also key responsibilities. This is a short-term project work opportunity with a supportive team culture.

Requirements

  • Prior experience with pumps, centrifuge systems or dredging and dewatering
  • Valid Class 5 licence with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years
  • Valid CSO certification (or combination of CSTS-09 and OSSA Regional or BSO)
  • Able to provide a negative pre-employment alcohol and drug test
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Maintain a high level of integrity when it comes to safety
  • Comfortable being on and around open bodies of water
  • Comfortable working outdoors in harsh weather conditions
  • Able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis
  • Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
  • Uncompromising commitment to health and safety at all times

Nice To Haves

  • Production dredging experience
  • Valid Pleasure Craft operator card
  • Marine Emergency Duties (A1 or A3) licence
  • Small Vessel Operator (SVOP) training
  • Able to work in confined space or at heights with the use of fall restraint equipment

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor dredges, diesel/electric pumps, pipelines, valves, and associated equipment to support safe and efficient production
  • Perform dredging activities in accordance with project plans, safety requirements, environmental regulations, and operating procedures
  • Operate and maintain deposition areas, plant facilities, tank farms, screen tanks, sump levels, and fluid management systems to ensure efficient tailings handling
  • Operate boats, skid steers, and other heavy equipment, including excavators and loaders, as required to support dredging operations
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime
  • Clean, prepare, maintain, and rig in/out equipment and components to support daily operations
  • Assist process and machine operators, as well as other project personnel, with operational activities as required
  • Maintain accurate production, maintenance, and operational records
  • Participate in daily toolbox talks, weekly safety meetings, hazard assessments, safety tours, incident prevention initiatives, and CEDA's ICE Card program
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment through effective housekeeping practices
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and project teams to achieve production and operational objectives
