About The Position

New Beginnings Construction, Inc. is seeking a Draftsman/Designer in the Charleston area to join their team. This role is for a design professional who enjoys working directly with clients, collaborating with production teams, and seeing projects move from concept to construction. The position involves translating client visions into thoughtful, buildable designs, drafting plans, refining layouts, and coordinating structural and MEP details. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and solutions-focused, with a commitment to craftsmanship, precision, teamwork, and meaningful impact. Requirements

• Strong technical drafting ability with experience producing accurate, buildable architectural plans.
• Ability to manage the full design process from client consultation through finalized construction documents.
• Clear, professional communication with homeowners and cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and MEP contractors.
• High attention to detail when coordinating structural, architectural, and MEP components.
• Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies between drawings, field conditions, and as-built specifications.
• Process-driven mindset with commitment to maintaining accurate documentation, drafting standards, and visual consistency.
• Ownership mentality - proactively keeping stakeholders informed and design phases on schedule.
• Integrity and professionalism when representing NBC.

Nice To Haves

• Residential remodeling or light commercial construction experience.
• Coordination with architects, engineers, or MEP professionals.
• Producing permit-ready plan sets and managing as-built documentation.

Responsibilities

• Meet with homeowners to understand their goals and translate their ideas into practical, buildable concepts.
• Draft plans, refine layouts, and coordinate structural and MEP details.
• Ensure designs align with client expectations and construction realities.
• Collaborate closely with sales and production teams to ensure designs are buildable and can be executed efficiently.
