The Drafter provides drafting support using AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Word, and other programs. The role maintains a high professional standard and works directly with team members, company leadership, and key clients. The Drafter creates and reviews technical plans and construction details, supports the design process, and serves as a technical resource for employees who use drafting software less frequently. This position has no supervisory responsibilities; other duties may be assigned. The position is full-time and office-based in a professional, climate-controlled office in Big Lake, Alaska, with standard daytime hours. It is largely sedentary and involves extended periods at a computer workstation, continuous keyboard and mouse use, and work with high-resolution dual monitors. Close visual acuity, attention to detail, and prolonged mental concentration are required. Occasional light lifting or moving of office equipment, files, or manuals weighing up to 10–20 pounds may be required. Occasional travel may be needed to verify dimensions or review project constraints, and the role may occasionally involve exposure to a production shop floor or construction site, where louder noise and protective equipment may be involved. Occasional schedule flexibility may be required to meet tight project deadlines. Compensation is $26–$35 per hour, depending on experience. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including eligibility for Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB), a 401(k), and other employee benefits.
