About The Position

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is seeking a motivated Drafter/Designer for its Chesterfield, Missouri office. Under general supervision, the successful candidate will use computer-aided drafting and compatible software to support engineering and drafting projects. The role is intended to develop sub-professional work knowledge and abilities through drafting assignments supervised by an experienced project engineer or project manager. Work includes drawings of general arrangements, structures, facilities, site plans, facility layouts, electrical schematics, wiring, and connection requirements. Assignments may also include reproducing drawings, handling material supplies, and performing similar work. Occasional travel or driving may be required. Applicants must not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future; the successful applicant must also meet ECI’s auto insurance carrier requirements.

Requirements

A college degree in an acceptable curriculum, a two-year technical certificate in computer-aided drafting/design, or at least two years of concentrated on-the-job experience in computer-aided drafting/design.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work individually and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work with confidential information and exercise independent judgment.
Must meet ECI’s auto insurance carrier requirements.
Must not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

Experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation/Bentley Connect.

Responsibilities

Perform drafting manually or using a computer, applying knowledge of drafting methods, procedures, and techniques.
Use symbols, legends, shadings, lines, and layering in accordance with ECI Drafting Standards.
Prepare as-built drawings from red-line copies.
Prepare error-free revisions of existing CADD files.
Create drawings of general arrangements, structures, facilities, site plans, facility layouts, electrical schematics, wiring, and connection requirements.
Perform drawing reproduction, handle material supplies, and complete similar assignments.
