About The Position

The DOT Safety Compliance Manager position is responsible for ensuring all LNC vehicles are following the Department of Transportation regulations and overseeing driver qualification files and the onboarding requirements for drivers are met. This role will involve other responsibilities, including LNC’s fueling program, GPS, Elog, and Dash Cam programs, and assisting with outside freight carriers and brokers' COI.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED with 3-4 years of Transportation/Logistics experience or bachelor’s degree with 1 year of relevant professional experience or 4-5 years of experience in the Transportation/Logistics industry.
  • Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments.
  • Establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Ability to meet or exceed team/driver needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.
  • Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure DOT compliance and company safety requirements are being met.
  • Review all driver application documents and complete driver onboarding processes, including running MVRs, fueling cards setup, and Reveal setup (Elog).
  • Initiate FMCSA Clearinghouse queries.
  • Coordinate with HR on screening issues/MVR review.
  • New Driver- Previous employers verification.
  • Maintain and reconcile Driver qualification files.
  • Weekly review of hours of service, harsh driving, or speeding violations.
  • Monitor and coordinate with all LNC locations to ensure employee medical cards, physicals, and licenses are up to date.
  • Maintain current insurance list for all trucks, trailers, and other LNC vehicles.
  • Ensure LNC is compliant with all IRP and IFTA tags, as well as annual registration renewals.
  • Oversee that outside carrier and broker requirements are met concerning authority and insurance.
  • Monitor daily vehicle inspection reports and maintenance files.
  • Oversee Overweight permits and licensing for all trucks and trailers.
  • Become cross-trained to provide support in other compliance/safety functional areas as needed.
  • Administrative duties such as tablet statements and SMS reports.
  • Maintain office records.
  • Day-to-day communication with drivers and location administrators.
  • Assist with developing PM programs for all rolling stock.
  • Assist and Develop SOPs to ensure safe operations of LNC Fleet.
  • Develop tracking for outside side carriers and COI.
  • Managing Vehicle Policy and Fleet Safety Program for LNC Trucking LLC.
  • Oversee Transportation Safety Assessment Program.
  • Conduct driver coaching and safety assessments.
  • Perform any other related processes and tasks deemed necessary by the Safety and Compliance Manager.
  • Travel is required as needed.
