About The Position

The DOT Compliance Manager oversees the company’s DOT fleet, dispatch operations, and CDL drivers. This role ensures all company‑owned and leased commercial vehicles comply with DOT, IFTA, UCR, and tax regulations. The DOT Compliance Manager works closely with the Safety Division to maintain full compliance with safety standards and operational protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet administration or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Experience coordinating with division managers and field teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage DOT processes, including 2290s, IFTA, MC150, and UCR.
  • File and renew IRP cab cards.
  • File quarterly IFTA fuel taxes.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure audit compliance for CDL drivers, DOT, IFTA, and MC150 regulations, including ELD requirements.
  • Assign driver codes in WEX, order fuel cards, and review monthly fuel reports.
  • Manage dispatch operations and oversee commercial DOT drivers, including hiring CDL drivers as needed.
  • Work with the Safety Division to ensure compliance with driver protocols and combined truck/trailer weight limits.
  • Ensure annual and one‑trip permits are ordered and properly routed.
  • Handle citations, including corrections related to drivers, combined weight, and overweight issues.
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure accuracy of invoices and payment processing for permits, taxes, and citations.
  • Order permits as required.
  • Assign and review work for team members.
  • Coordinate staff training and participate in hiring decisions.
  • Monitor OSHA compliance and safety training for all fleet operations.
  • Ensure employees have the tools and equipment needed for safe and productive work.
  • Communicate professionally with supervisors, team members, contractors, and vendors.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to fleet operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support company needs.
