About The Position
Major Food Group is hiring a part-time Doorperson to join our team at THE GRILL! THE GRILL is a historically based American chophouse set in midcentury New York. It takes great inspiration from history; both the time the Seagram Building was built and the restaurants that existed at that time. It is the precursor to the NY Steakhouse, when things were still intricate and elegant. It celebrates all the animals of the land and some of our favorites from the sea. There is extensive table side preparation and service. There is also extensive use of THE GRILL. It is the name of the restaurant, the style of restaurant, and the piece of equipment we use in the kitchen for many of our signature preparations.
Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years as a Doorperson, or similar role.
- Previous experience in security, hospitality, or customer service strongly preferred.
- Availability including nights, weekends, and holidays is required.
- Strong people skills a must.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Greets guests outside the restaurant.
- Treats all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strives to exceed guests' expectations.
- Facilitate the flow of traffic in and out of the restaurant.
- Engage guests, act as an ambassador of the restaurant in both personality and knowledge.
- Interacts with guests as they arrive and as they leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience.
- Perform some security responsibilities as necessary.
- Performs other duties as directed.
