Curacao Chino - Door Guard
About The Position
The Door Guard is responsible for security and theft prevention at designated store entrances and for enforcing company policies at CURACAO stores. The role uses security equipment and techniques, monitors entrances, assists customers and employees with basic store questions, and reports suspicious internal or external activity to Loss Prevention management. The position reports directly to the Operations Manager, except in cases involving internal or external theft, which are reported to Loss Prevention Management. The Door Guard provides customer service while checking customer and employee supply receipts, enforces entrance and exit policies, supports store opening and closing procedures, and assists store management during emergencies. The position may also involve assisting with shoplifter apprehension and physically intervening or restraining individuals when necessary to ensure safety. Other duties may be assigned or required. The role requires a professional presence, confident communication, and the ability to remain calm and assertive in challenging situations. The work takes place in a fast-paced environment. Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must have a Guard Card.
- At least 6 months of loss prevention or security experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of the Power of Arrest and detainment.
- Valid government-issued ID for police reports and court purposes.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Excel and Word.
- Ability to speak in public.
- Teamwork-oriented, dynamic, and enthusiastic.
- Open to learning and accepting changes in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to relate to individuals at all levels and to remain sensitive to company needs, employee goodwill, and the public image; must understand company policies and procedures.
- Math skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and decimals.
- Ability to physically intervene or restrain individuals when necessary to ensure safety.
- May require ability to lift heavy objects and equipment weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, crawl, kneel, climb, and push or pull objects.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly customer service while verifying customer and employee supply receipts at the door.
- Enforce entrance and exit policies.
- Report suspicious internal or external activity to Loss Prevention management.
- Assist store management with opening and closing procedures.
- Assist store management during emergency situations.
- Assist in shoplifter apprehension.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
