This specific role is a Limited Tenure position, meaning employment is for a defined period (approximately 24 months) with the expectation that the employee will secure a new role within Mayo Clinic before the tenure ends to continue employment.

Requirements

• A high school diploma/or equivalent or higher education is required.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Requires good communication, telephone, and human relation skills to interact with patients, guests, and staff.
• Strong problem-solving skills are necessary.
• Must be able to adapt to unpredictable situations and stress.
• Works varied hours which may include days, evenings, days/evenings, holiday, and weekends, with rotating days off.
• Must have a valid driver's license and an excellent driving record.
• Commitment to stay in this position until the end of the tenure (approximately 24 months from date of hire) before becoming eligible to transfer to a new position.
• Responsibility to secure another role within Mayo through the job vacancy process after completion of the limited tenure assignment.

• Previous hospital or clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting patients and guests to and from vehicles (cars, courtesy vans, shuttle buses, taxis).
• Providing direction support, mobility assistance, and answering general questions.
• Keeping patient loading zones clear.
• Transporting patients, their personal belongings, or selected medical devices.
• Calling, recording, and monitoring taxi cabs and courtesy vehicles daily.
• Assisting and supporting valet operations as directed.
• Sanitizing equipment used to support patients.
• Assisting with traffic control in drive-up lanes to ensure safety.
• Wheelchair recovery from various locations including hospital floors, clinic floors, hotels, and other on and off-campus ancillary areas.
