About The Position
Provides fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient service to Price Chopper customers. Prepares, bakes, and merchandises bakery products under the direct supervision of the bakery manager or first clerk to promote sales. Maintains a clean and sanitized work station in accordance with corporate and state sanitation regulations. Assists with bakery operations in the retail store, including preparation, baking, merchandising, and final presentation of bakery products. Helps create or fulfill customer special orders, such as cake orders, and operates bakery equipment. Follows sanitation, safety, shrink-control, and company policies and procedures. The role requires frequent customer interaction and physical work, including prolonged standing and walking, exposure to hot environments, and lifting loads up to 100 pounds.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Strong communication skills.
- Basic literacy skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist with bakery operations, including preparing, baking, merchandising, and presenting bakery products.
- Provide fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient customer service.
- Smile, make eye contact, and thank customers when fulfilling their requests.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work station according to 5S standards.
- Assist with or create customer special orders, such as cake orders.
- Operate bakery department equipment, including ovens, mixers, and utensils.
- Follow corporate and state sanitation regulations and maintain a clean work area.
- Follow state and corporate safety standards.
- Control shrink by adhering to related policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties assigned by management and follow company policies and procedures.
