About The Position

The Donor Specialist thoroughly examines and grades donated goods for sale in Goodwill of North Georgia Retail stores. The role processes goods quickly to meet production goals in a fast-paced environment while following standard operating procedures. It also involves assisting guests at the donation area, maintaining a clean and organized donor door or attended donation center, and helping with donation loading and unloading.

Requirements

Basic math and reading skills.
Good oral and written communication skills in English, as well as interpersonal skills.
Must be able to start employment wearing acceptable safety work shoes.
Must be able to work in conditions including heat, cold, and dust.
Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, stand and/or walk for extended periods, and push, pull, and lift up to 30 pounds, with or without accommodation.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
One or more years of production experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain a professional, patient, and people-first attitude with guests.
Provide each guest with a donation receipt at the time of donating.
Answer guest questions and resolve problems by following agency and departmental standard operating procedures.
Sort donations into designated categories.
Communicate effectively with management when necessary.
Perform work tasks according to training playbooks, e-learning, and work instructions.
Evaluate and navigate decisions effectively.
Promote and demonstrate cooperation and teamwork with peers.
Maintain a neat, clean, and organized donor door area or attended donation center location.
Follow safety and security practices, including reporting hazards and injuries to management.
Assist truck drivers with loading and unloading donations.
Attend and complete required trainings and meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
