About The Position

The Donor Relations Coordinator supports the operations of University Advancement by coordinating and executing essential functions within Advancement Services, including donor relations, gift administration, data management, and events. This role helps centralize and streamline business processes that are currently distributed across multiple functional areas, enhancing efficiency and consistency in a rapidly growing and increasingly complex advancement environment. The position plays a critical role in sustaining TWU’s record fundraising success by increasing operational capacity without adding additional staff, allowing senior team members to focus on strategic priorities. The position provides foundational support while contributing to improved workflows and expanded service capabilities across the Advancement division. Work is performed under general supervision and performance is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.

Requirements

  • Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.
  • All employees share the responsibility of maintaining information security and privacy requirements within the university by adhering to Federal and State regulations, and TWU Policies & Procedures.
  • Knowledge of the tenets of professional fundraising and constituent engagement.
  • Knowledge of databases, constituent relationship management, and information technology platforms.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals and accounting and finance.
  • Knowledge of general business operations of an office.
  • Skilled in the Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Skills in social media and online communications platforms.
  • Skilled with AI tools and large language models like Chat GPT, Claude, etc.
  • Skilled with the use of all types of devices, including desktop, laptop, tablet, mobile, remote, and other technologies.
  • Ability to communicate well both face-to-face and in writing.
  • Ability to negotiate workloads and deadlines.
  • Ability to think critically and work independently.
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional office experience preferred.
  • Experience in fundraising, data analysis, business operations, computer science, and/or accounting highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support University Advancement's alumni and constituent engagement, annual giving, leadership annual giving, major giving, and planned giving initiatives by delivering effective stewardship support, maintaining accurate record keeping, and being a source of reliable prospect research and other types of trustworthy information.
  • Maintain daily ad hoc and ongoing changes to constituent records in University Advancement databases, primarily alumni/donor/friend/other constituent types of records in UA's Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and related platforms.
  • Provide basic gift administration support in day-to-day processes including linking and syncing gift and constituent records, entering gifts, developing giving pages, and other gift administration-related duties as assigned.
  • Help monitor, coordinate, be responsive to, collaborate on, be a source of information for, and serve as a contact within UA's primary project management platform Asana when requests for Advancement Services are received from UA and TWU System partners.
  • Provide Donor Relations support by facilitating donor communications, events, and other initiatives.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal TWU Advancement partners as well as the wider TWU System community.
  • Support data integrity and improvement projects such as updating records from external data sources, whether through standalone jobs or recurring processes.
  • Deploy new and existing technologies, including AI, to develop efficiencies and improve Advancement Services workflows.
  • Be available to perform duties primarily on-site at the TWU Advancement main office in Denton.
  • Be on site to provide Advancement Events support, as needed.
  • Occasional travel outside DFW may be required to support UA activities or engage in professional development, if appropriate.
  • Act as liaison for University Advancement and the University Advancement Department of Advancement Services to any and all campus partners, when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
