Donor Acquisition Specialist- Cinco Ranch
About The Position
The Donor Acquisition Specialist works at an Attended Donation Center (ADC), providing excellent donor service while accepting, sorting, and processing donations according to Goodwill Houston guidelines. The role follows GRATIS procedures, maintains accurate donation records, supports production and transportation operations, and helps ensure the efficient and cost-effective stewardship of donated goods in support of Goodwill Houston’s mission. The position also contributes to the safety, security, and cleanliness of the location and performs other duties as assigned by management. The work involves frequent standing and physical activity, including handling donations and equipment. The work environment is indoors, with occasional exposure to outside temperatures and usually moderate noise.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types.

- Ability to stand, twist, bend, squat, reach, kneel, push, and pull.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
Nice To Haves
- Previous customer service experience.
- Retail sales experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Greet donors cheerfully at their vehicles and accept donations according to Goodwill Houston guidelines.
- Follow GRATIS procedures: greet donors, provide printed receipts, assist with unloading, thank donors, invite them to return, and sort donations into hardlines or softlines.
- Provide excellent customer service, show appreciation to donors, and encourage repeat donations.
- Collect donations using donation carts and sort them into categories.
- Maintain accurate donation records and issue completed receipts to donors.
- Communicate clearly with the immediate manager, Transportation Department, and other key leadership personnel.
- Help keep production supplies available.
- Assist with loading and unloading donations and equipment as needed.
- Help protect the safety and security of team members and Goodwill Houston property.
- Perform necessary janitorial work and maintain a neat, clean, and safe work area.
- Report work incidents and injuries immediately.
- Follow Goodwill Houston policies and procedures, loss prevention and safety regulations, guiding principles, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain punctuality, dependable attendance, and an appropriate appearance.
- Attend training sessions and participate in activities outside Goodwill Houston when requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
