About The Position

Looking for a caring & loving dog walkers to add to our growing team who is interested in making supplemental income loving on pets of all shapes & sizes! Furmaids Pet Services is a family-owned, highly rated pet care company in Eastern Monmouth County. We are a force free company which means we focus on well-being first and foremost. We do not use punishments or aversive equipment like choke, shock, or prong collars. All of our staff are trained in using force free methods and ways to use these techniques to improve the quality and ease of your walks. We are big on letting the dogs sniff and leading their own adventure. We believe their walks are all about them and satisfying their needs which can look different for every dog. We focus on safety and well-being while providing the best care to both or fur and human friends. We prioritize special care and little things like checking in on a sick or injured dog goes a long way in our industry. We always try to go the extra mile whenever we can. We serve over 60 active clients, and we continue to grow. We’re the type of people who when we get together for happy hours, we talk about our pets for hours. We value client connections (both human and fur), pets’ safety, integrity and honesty, teamwork, an inclusive environment for both our team and our clients, exemplary communication, and a complete wow experience for our clients. This role is physically demanding. It involves daily walks covering multiple miles, working with high-energy dogs, and walking two dogs at the same time.

Requirements

Availability between 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday-Friday and one Saturday per month.
Commitment to at least 10 hours per week.
Ability to make a long-term commitment.
Must NOT work for any other pet care companies such as Rover.
Must sign a non-compete agreement.
Must have a smart phone and computer with internet access.
Must have access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
Live in or near the service area (Asbury Park to Belmar, Neptune, Neptune City).
Align with force-free values and lead with a kind heart.
Ability to work independently and be resourceful.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Some level of animal intuition and ability to read dog body language.
Must be an animal-lover with endless amounts of patience.

Responsibilities

Perform 5-10 dog walks per day, with visits back-to-back and completed within a certain time frame.
Walk dogs in all weather conditions.
Travel within a 10-mile radius of home.
Communicate clearly with clients and staff through notes and updates.
Provide special care and attention to sick or injured dogs.
Go the extra mile for clients and their pets.
