Dog Walker and Pet Sitter (Part Time to Start)

203 Pet Service•Fairfield, CT
•Onsite

About The Position

203 Pet Service is hiring a reliable, kind dog walker and pet sitter to serve Fairfield, CT, and nearby towns. The role starts part time, with the possibility of growing hours as the schedule grows. The company trains employees on client routines before they work independently and aims to build routes with nearby clients where possible. Most initial visits are private dog walks and potty breaks between 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Employees also cover weekend and holiday visits and pet sitting when clients travel. Visits are one-on-one, with no group walks. Employees check in and out using a phone app and send each pet owner a photo and short note after each visit. Employees are the primary caregivers for their clients, including weekend visits and pet sitting, with team backup for illness or emergencies. The position pays per appointment, with earnings set up to be at least $17.50 per hour including drive time between visits, and never below Connecticut minimum wage. Fuel reimbursement, weekly direct deposit, and paid leave as required by Connecticut law are provided. Employees who prove to be a good fit may have the opportunity to move to a salary when one is offered. Dog walkers and pet sitters are W-2 employees, not independent contractors. The company pays for its chosen pet first aid and CPR course.
