About The Position

The Dog Trimmer is an integral position at Scenthound, offering trimming knowledge and providing trimming services to clients. The role is suited to a confident, motivated dog trimmer who loves dogs and is knowledgeable, perceptive, patient, adaptable, and compassionate. Trimming follows Scenthound standards: puppy cuts consisting of one length all over with a neat face. The position requires at least one year of grooming experience or graduation from a grooming school, knowledge of dog breeds, care standards, and grooming tools, the strength to lift up to 70 pounds, stamina to stand for long periods, reliable transportation, and willingness to work in a smoke-free environment.

Responsibilities

Trim dogs to Scenthound standards, providing puppy cuts with one length all over and a neat face.
Create an environment conducive to learning, open communication, and teamwork.
Identify when and where help is needed and provide assistance to keep the Scenter on schedule.
Ensure the safety of dogs and team members at all times.
Adhere to Scenthound sanitary and cleaning practices.
Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Scenter Manager.
