About The Position

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Documentation Engineer (Project Information Specialist) to work on transportation infrastructure projects in Chicago, IL. This role is responsible for the care and handling of enterprise-wide company and project documents, including electronic records management, distribution, classification, and retention. Project Information Management utilizes the tools and systems necessary to effectively and proactively manage, control, and report on all project and company information throughout the organization. Under general direction, this position applies advanced skills, resolves problems using advanced techniques and procedures, and demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and complete assigned tasks. The role involves maintaining and organizing engineering documentation on an enterprise content management system, including identification and generation of reports. The Documentation Engineer may be responsible for leading a departmental process as assigned by management and may orient, train, assign, and check the work of lower-level employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ Years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid Drivers License Required

Nice To Haves

  • Six (6) years of experience in construction including three (3) years' experience as an Office Engineer
  • IDOT Documentation Certification for Contract Quantities
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • BS degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related discipline or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
