The Documentation Coordinator position prepares documents that are compliant with US customs and customs clearance destination. This role involves reviewing daily reports to prioritize responsibilities, gathering and submitting documentation for shipments to ensure they can sail on time, and answering alerts and emails from Smithfield and their customer base in a timely manner. The coordinator will also provide assistance to customers and administrative staff, comply with state laws, policy and company procedures, and assist clients with problems or questions regarding their invoice. Ensuring AES is completed timely and accurately is a key responsibility, along with understanding the Harmonized Tariff schedule and Schedule B Numbers. Other general office duties as assigned are also part of the role. The position receives guidance for overall objectives and works within company and department policies and guidelines using independent judgment to achieve assigned objectives.
