About The Position

The Document Workflow Engineer (DWE) will join Proctor Loan Protector’s Client Technology Team to support the creation, administration and maintenance of multiple workflows supporting the organization. The DWE is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise document management and automation solutions, with a focus on Intelligent Document Processing. This role develops and maintains systems that capture, classify, extract, and route information from structured and unstructured documents into downstream business applications. The DWE supports our global insurance and claim document business processes. The role will work closely with business stakeholders and technical team mates to translate operational requirements into scalable document processing workflows and integrations. Responsibilities include solution configuration, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of automated content management processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and on-the-job experience.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience with workflow configuration intelligent extraction tools
  • Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience in ECM tools or a similar technical role
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Strong understanding of Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) technology — including classification, extraction, validation, and workflow automation.
  • Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) expertise.
  • Understanding integration patterns for data flow into enterprise systems (OnBase, RPA tools, Business Process Management suites, etcetera).
  • Familiarity with workflow automation, process monitoring, and exception handling.
  • Comfortable scripting or using business process models, designers or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with data governance, role-based access, and secure document handling.
  • Experience deconstructing technological solutions for the purpose of documentation of current products and processes.
  • Ability to work closely with development, operational and functional departments as necessary (i.e., technical and non-technical staff).
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and ability to act as a liaison between business users and the technical staff to write and assess new business requirements and change requests.

  • Ability to manage multiple document processing configurations, integrations, and optimization tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with OCR/ICR engines
  • Experience with workflow management, AI, machine learning systems
  • Experience with Jira, Tempo, Confluence, and Smartsheet desired
  • Familiarity with concepts of relational databases and SQL preferred
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure components and deployments (AWS, Azure) preferred
  • Familiarity with C# preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with homeowners' (property) insurance concepts preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise document management and automation solutions, with a focus on Intelligent Document Processing.
  • Developing and maintaining systems that capture, classify, extract, and route information from structured and unstructured documents into downstream business applications.
  • Supporting global insurance and claim document business processes.
  • Translating operational requirements into scalable document processing workflows and integrations.
  • Solution configuration, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of automated content management processes.
  • Configuring and deploying document classification models and data extraction rules.
  • Integrating data into enterprise systems using patterns for data flow.
  • Supporting low-code/no-code configuration tools and Integrated Development Environments (IDE) for IDP design workflows.
  • Managing and maintaining complex process design structures.
  • Creating technical documentation, such as business requirements and/or functional requirements.
  • Deconstructing technological solutions for the purpose of documentation of current products and processes.
  • Performing, analyzing, and documenting gap analysis.
  • Participating in the development of documentation for end users and product monitoring staff.
  • Assisting with application program testing, and quality assurance.
  • Acting as a liaison between business users and technical staff to write and assess new business requirements and change requests.
  • Coordinating and supporting project and application releases.
