We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Document Controller to join our Western Canada Division based out of Vancouver, BC. This role supports the successful delivery of complex infrastructure and development projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with best practices and project standards, participating in training workshops, and maintaining high standards of document governance. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in document management systems, quality assurance, and stakeholder coordination, playing a critical role in maintaining the integrity and accessibility of project documentation.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience in document control, preferably in large-scale infrastructure or capital projects.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Administration, or a related field or relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of document control principles, including lifecycle management, versioning, and archiving.
  • Proven experience in capital project environments with knowledge of design and construction documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint and other document management platforms & collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Aconex, ProjectWise, ACC, Bluebeam etc).
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office and Adobe tools.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience.
  • Experience conducting quality assurance reviews and implementing process improvements.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in document management or information governance from a recognized institution is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain electronic document management systems (EDMS) across multiple projects.
  • Ensure accurate classification, metadata tagging, and version control of all project documents.
  • Coordinate and support the distribution and tracking of controlled documents and deliverables.
  • Conduct periodic quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with internal and client standards.
  • Support the development and refinement of document control procedures and workflows and ensure its alignment with the established Document Management Plan.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure timely document submissions and approvals.
  • Act as a key point of contact for document control-related queries.
