About The Position

Furtado & Associates, Inc. is a dynamic consulting firm based in Seattle WA., specializing in innovative land surveying, geospatial services, construction management, and engineering solutions. We are a privately held firm working on a variety of community improving infrastructure projects throughout the Puget Sound region, including Sound Transit’s Link Light Rail Extensions, King County CSO program, and with various City and County agencies on utility, port and corridor projects. Our team currently has an opening for an experienced professional to fill the role of Document Control Specialist. Requirements

  • 2+ years of document control experience required
  • Proficiency in SharePoint required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) required
  • Proficiency in PDF manager (Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam) required
  • Outstanding organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of Construction Administration experience supporting engineers, inspectors and other technical staff preferred
  • Proficiency in Oracle Primavera Contract Management software a plus
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain current Contract Plans by posting RFIs, field changes, and change notices.
  • Document, track, and ensure resolution of all project correspondence between Construction Management Team, Contractor, Owner, Design Consultant, city, and other local agencies.
  • Organize and resolve all day-to-day project issues that may arise.
  • Review contractor’s payment request, calculate any necessary quantities to validate the amount requested, and ensure all documentation meets the Owner’s needs.
  • Manage submittal process. Track and distribute for review by other appropriate party, work plans, shop drawings, samples, test reports, and other data submitted by the construction contractor, for general conformance to the Contract Documents.
  • Coordinate with Resident Engineer and Inspectors to track and log all daily reports.
  • Preparing correspondence, reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Providing document control support in accordance with document control procedures including copying and filing documents, receipt and distribution of incoming and outgoing documents.
  • Entering documents into the project file and maintaining up to date, accurate logs and other related duties.
  • Assisting in processing incoming and outgoing RFIs, submittmits, and other related documentation.
  • Assisting in preparing monthly reports, and other special reports as requested by the Office Engineer.
  • Collaborating and communicating with other members of the project team to ensure the success of the project.
