About The Position

BendPak is a leading manufacturer of vehicle repair equipment. This role is for a Detail-oriented Document Control Specialist and Junior Drafter responsible for managing engineering documentation, maintaining accurate records, supporting drafting workflows, and ensuring compliance with change-control processes. The position provides technical drawing support using SolidWorks and assists Engineering and Drafting teams with document lifecycle, organization, release, and quality control.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of document control experience
  • Working knowledge of PDM Vault, MRP systems, ECN/ECR processes.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks
  • Ability to read, interpret, and check engineering drawings
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, multitasking, and communication skills.
  • Competent with MS Office, Windows-based systems, scanners/plotters, and document management tools.
  • Able to work independently and within cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Quality assurance and manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or Inventor beneficial.
  • GD&T familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and revise 2D/3D drawings, assemblies, schematics, and technical illustrations using SolidWorks
  • Ensure drawings meet drafting standards, dimensional accuracy, and engineering requirements.
  • Prepare BOMs, templates, packaging drawings, and supporting documents for engineering and manufacturing.
  • Support design reviews, implement ECO/EDR updates, and correct deficiencies as needed.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of engineering documents, including creation, revision, approval, release, and archiving.
  • Maintain accurate metadata, revision history, and file structure in PDM, MRP, and Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) systems.
  • Verify accuracy and completeness of scanned files, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and internal standards.
  • Process Design Requirement forms (DRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Communicate document and drawing changes to cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain clear records of official communications, change actions, and document status.
  • Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and external vendors.
  • Organize, index, and maintain libraries of electronic and physical drawings.
  • Archive project documents and ensure records are retrievable, accurate, and compliant with retention policies.
  • Track document progress, project requirements, and completion status.
  • Support research tasks and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.
