About The Position

US Cargo, a subsidiary of PITT OHIO, is hiring a Part-Time Dockworker at its Brook Park, Ohio terminal. The company provides transportation services throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania and is expanding from courier and small-package services into LTL freight while maintaining a commitment to safety, service, and employees. The schedule is Monday and Thursday only, with a 12 PM start. The listed pay range begins at $19.53 per hour; the posting lists $0.00 as the upper amount.

Requirements

• Must be at least 17 years old.
• Must consent to a pre-employment drug screen and receive a negative result.
• Must complete an employment application and interview.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must be able to read and write English.
• Must demonstrate a stable work history, good work ethic, dependability, and a positive, supportive, and cooperative attitude.
• Must be able to meet physical job demands, including occasionally pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 70 pounds and repetitively lifting 20 to 30 pounds.
• Must be able to stand, walk, twist, bend, and reach above and below waist level.

Responsibilities

• Sort and distribute boxes, bags, envelopes, cartons, and other goods on trucks or in the terminal’s designated sort area; freight may be palletized.
• Read tracking labels, manifests, bills of lading, and other shipping documents to determine the correct freight placement.
• Scan all inbound and/or outbound freight.
• Load and unload freight on and off trucks using a forklift or, by hand, a hand truck or pallet jack.
• Secure freight to prevent loss or damage.
• Work safely to reduce the risk of injury to oneself and fellow employees.
• Immediately report injuries, accidents, and safety hazards involving people or property.
• Count, weigh, and/or record the number of pieces when required.
