About The Position

The Docketing Manager will play a pivotal role in our Court Services Department, ensuring the accuracy of calendar entries calculated by the West Coast Calendar Department and providing e-filing support to the U.S. litigators. In this multifaceted position, you will verify the calculation of procedural deadlines, oversee the entry of dates in the calendar software, review court filings and litigation documents, provide valuable insights into civil and court procedures, and assist with e-filings and service in state and federal courts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of similar related experience in litigation calendaring and court procedures.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of California civil court procedures and rules (state superior, appellate, and federal).
  • Experience with e-filing requirements and procedures, including filing in various e-filing platforms such as CM/ECF, Odyssey, Tyler Technologies, TrueFiling and File & ServeXpress
  • Proficiency with Aderant-Compulaw, CourtAlert or a compatible database.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload and interact effectively with personnel at all levels.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and to multitask under pressure.
  • Possess strong customer service skills and works well within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Verify calculation of procedural deadlines, review the entry of litigation deadlines in our U.S. calendaring system, to ensure accuracy and consistency in calendaring practices.
  • Act as a resource for attorneys and case teams, answering questions about court calendaring, civil procedures, and judges' rules.
  • Conduct research on court rules, civil procedures, and case histories as necessary.
  • Assist with change management efforts to enhance calendaring and docketing procedures.
  • Coordinate with the SF Calendar Supervisor to ensure the calendaring entries meet the highest standards of accuracy.
  • Coordinate with the Managing Attorney’s Offices in NY and DC to ensure consistent Court Services Department operations.
