The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking a Highway Safety Program Manager for the Richmond Region within its Highway Safety Office. This position reports to the Deputy Director of Highway Safety Programs and is responsible for managing statewide traffic safety initiatives, training operations, stakeholder coordination, and grant funding. The incumbent will oversee program delivery, develop training content, foster collaboration with law enforcement and community partners, and ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines. The role emphasizes data-driven decision-making to improve highway safety outcomes while representing the agency in high-profile interagency efforts and public forums. The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, serves approximately 6.2 million licensed drivers and ID card holders with over 8.4 million registered vehicles. In addition, DMV serves many businesses, including dealers, fuel tax customers, rental companies, driving schools, other state agencies, local governments, and non-profit organizations.
