The FMLA Coordinator will manage the FMLA and Leave of Absence program for the NC Department of Motor Vehicles. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining compliance with NC DOT HR Department, as well as Office of State Human Resources. This position requires strong customer service and interpersonal skills as it deals with a diverse customer base including working directly with employees and managers for Leave of Absence related topics. This position will initiate actions within the State’s HRIS system, review all required documentation, and utilize the FMLA workbench, if needed. The FMLA Coordinator will also need to have working knowledge of other types of Leave of Absences, such as, but not limited to - Family Illness Leave, Military Leave, Parental Leave, Voluntary Shared Leave, and/or Short / Long Term Disability.
