This position involves supervising staff in the regional office who provide administrative support services to various detention centers within the assigned region, with a focus on human resources and fiscal functions. The role represents the Regional Director in administrative matters, collaborates with Detention Superintendents, creates and monitors work assignments for regional office staff and superintendents. It also provides mentoring and technical assistance to Superintendents on administrative issues and reviews compliance with established policies and procedures in areas such as annual goals, operating budgets, system usage (JJIS, Sharepoint, Tableau), and corrective action plans. The consultant reviews quarterly reports, monitors Food Service, Medical, and Mental Health Services, and reviews personnel matters including recruitment, hiring, discipline, grievances, FMLA, FSWP, and Worker’s Comp. Regular site visits to detention centers are required for review of functions, meetings with staff, record review, and inspections. The position also involves serving on departmental workgroups, acting as a regional representative for inter-branch coordination, representing the Regional Director at meetings, and serving as acting regional director in the director's absence.
