About The Position

The Salvation Army is seeking an experienced Divisional Resource Development Director in the Arkansas/Oklahoma area to lead, manage, cultivate, solicit, and steward the major gifts program in the division. The Salvation Army operates in communities across the United States. We are committed to meeting human needs wherever we can by providing food distribution, disaster relief, rehabilitation centers, anti-human trafficking efforts, housing for the homeless, children’s programs, and many other programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred, but not required) from an accredited college or university (preferably in a related field of study)
  • Five years’ experience performing progressively responsible fundraising work in a charitable organization
  • Demonstrated successful major donor fund raising experience preferred
  • Experience in leading a team of fund-raising professionals
  • Proven history of establishing and maintaining strong long-term donor relationships
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Track record of achieving goals
  • Prior experience with a donor management system
  • Active Christian faith in harmony with Salvation Army doctrine and practice
  • Agreement that they will do nothing as an employee of The Salvation Army to undermine its religious mission
  • Valid State Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) or Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive (ACFRE) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of professionals to raise funds to enable the mission of The Salvation Army in the Arkansas/Oklahoma area.
  • Develop and nurture current and prospective donors, including individuals, foundations, government agencies, and corporations in an assigned geographic region of the Division.
  • Respond to inquiries and communicate with donors, advisory organization members, Salvation Army employees and leaders.
  • Provide direct oversight for a team of professionals, including training, mentoring, and accountability of its members.
