About The Position

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Obstetrician & Gynecologist (OBGYN) has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Division Administrator, Clinical to work in Miami, FL. The Division Administrator, Clinical works in conjunction with the department’s administrators to provide leadership to the assigned functional area within the organization. The incumbent analyzes practice operations and needs to determine potential enhancements or improvements to operational procedures and develops supporting patient accounting policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with established policies and procedures. Develops and maintains systems for managing and reporting the division’s activities. Maintains close liaison and positive working relationships with faculty and staff. Provides leadership in developing business strategies and tactics to support the goals of the division and Health System’s strategic plans for market growth and development. Oversees the performance management processes and outcomes for employees and physicians. Supports professional development of the workforce and performs needs assessments to determine continuing education needs of staff. Monitors staff and physician satisfaction. Supports quality improvement processes and pursues the spread of best practice in operations consistent with overall network goals. Directs the planning and strategic formation of clinical program goals. Analyzes and reviews financial and productivity reports. Oversees business plan development for capital projects. Provides overall administrative direction and coordination for revenue cycle management policies, procedures, and programs. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures. Daily management and operations of the GYO Division administrative back end operation, leading the team of surgical schedulers, clinical business operations representatives, and any incoming administrative roles HR management of the team including recruiting, hiring, coaching, and providing performance evaluations Assistance and oversight of the GYO fellowship program, working closely with the Faculty Fellowship Director Financial oversight of the Division’s budget, managing expenses, forecasting needs, and working with SAO to build annual capital and operational fiscal needs/business plans Liaison to the various clinical site leadership points of contact: troubleshooting clinic issues, managing space, handling escalation of patient issues Collaborative work with interdepartmental contacts, including patient experience, medical finance, human resources, research, ACGME, IT, etc. Working closely with the Division Chief and SAOto establish desired monthly reporting, performance improvement projects, and overall patient experience improvements across all sites Faculty liaison for any Divisional issues, rounding with providers regularly to assess satisfaction, areas for improvement Pull weekly Open Encounters and share with providers. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
  • Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
