About The Position

JFS/Curtze Food Service is seeking a self-starting, people-loving District Sales Representative to join our growing team in Syracuse. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about sales, great food, and building relationships, who enjoy the freedom of managing their own schedule and problem-solving. As a Sales Consultant, you will sell high-quality food service supplies and equipment to various institutions, participate in industry events, and proactively seek new business through cold calling. You will maintain strong relationships with existing accounts, consult on menus, take orders, and ensure customer satisfaction through excellent service and product knowledge. Responsibilities also include assisting with credit management to ensure timely payments.

Requirements

  • A motor vehicle record (MVR)
  • Record of sales achievements
  • Food service experience
  • Experience in general management, food service management, outside sales management, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Sell highest-quality food service supplies and equipment to restaurants, hotels, hospitals, and other institutions.
  • Participate in meetings, industry trade shows, and new product presentations.
  • Perform cold calling to find new business.
  • Maintain regular contact with existing accounts.
  • Communicate regularly with supporting departments.
  • Build strong business relationships by regularly meeting with customers and consulting on their menus.
  • Take customers' food orders and follow up on next-day deliveries.
  • Utilize customer service skills to develop accounts and expand customer opportunities.
  • Propose new menu ideas, assist in resolving issues, encourage client participation in food shows, and introduce customers to product specialists.
  • Provide appropriate prices, product information, sampling, and follow-up by researching industry information and customer needs.
  • Assist in the credit management of customers, ensuring they remain current with payments and invoices.
  • Engage with clients and help them with all their food service needs.
