District Sales Manager AZ/CO
About The Position
The District Sales Manager oversees 15 stores across the Arizona and Colorado area and is responsible for delivering an excellent experience for customers and associates while achieving financial results. This remote position is based within the district, with the Phoenix area preferred, and requires travel to stores. The manager inspires and develops future leaders, sets clear expectations, and creates a productive working atmosphere in stores. Music & Arts is part of the Guitar Center enterprise and operates retail stores, educational representatives, and affiliate locations. The company focuses on helping people experience the joy of music and emphasizes customer focus, respect, integrity, and passion.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent experience.
- Valid state driver's license and automotive insurance.
- 7 years of relevant work experience with in-depth knowledge of retail business processes.
- 3 years of experience leading teams.
- Skilled proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- 5 or more years of experience in retail store management.
Nice To Haves
- Phoenix-area location is preferred.
- Musicians may use gig leave to take time off to share their music and return to their job after a tour.
Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate sales and service activities while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Support and lead retail stores in executing high merchandising standards.
- Monitor reports to forecast sales, margin, and expenses, and develop ways to address performance gaps.
- Recruit, interview, select, hire, and promote associates.
- Guide, direct, and coach associates; set performance standards, monitor performance, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Oversee and develop district managers and associates while fostering a collaborative environment built on passion, respect, and integrity.
- Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts, or negotiate with others.
- Perform other related duties as required.
