About The Position

As an innovation leader, Gates is looking for ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded, and well-rounded individuals to join their global team as a District Sales Manager. This role will be based remotely out of the employee's home office, with responsibilities including travel to and sales of Gates products throughout an assigned territory. The District Sales Manager will be responsible for selling and promoting the Gates Fluid Power and Power Transmission product lines.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive sales experience or equivalent industry knowledge
  • High school degree or equivalent work experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to drive long distances for extended periods of time
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree in a business or engineering field
  • Experience in selling Fluid Power and/or Power Transmission products
  • Firm understanding of the MRO business
  • CRM experience

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed an annual sales quota and achieve specific strategic initiatives.
  • Utilize a consultative selling approach, technical expertise, and relationship-building skills with distributors and end-users.
  • Research customer needs and applications to apply appropriate Gates technologies for improved cost of ownership and productivity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams across all business functions.
  • Execute territory growth strategies for existing accounts and new prospective customers.
  • Accelerate growth of new Gates products and solutions, driving sustainable growth, margin improvement, and market expansion.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments.
  • Make regular sales calls to pursue opportunities, provide training and technical support, and increase overall mind share.
  • Follow up on leads (self-generated and marketing-provided).
  • Timely and accurate utilization of CRM systems.
  • Develop and maintain short, mid, and long-term sales plans.
  • Communicate high-value sales activity to contribute to effective product and service planning.
  • Provide top-quality customer service to all clients and prospects.
  • Monitor and communicate competitive activities to identify opportunities and/or countermeasures.
