About The Position

Tuff Shed is seeking a District Sales Manager for Retail (DSM-Retail) to oversee sales within the Southern California territory, including Los Angeles, Anaheim, and Escondido. This role is responsible for growing top-line sales, achieving budget goals, and developing the skills and performance of sales team members. The DSM-Retail will lead and manage retail sales and customer service functions within their district, ensuring successful accomplishment of objectives. A company vehicle will be provided for travel within the territory.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable MVR.
  • Hands-on computer skills in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Internet applications required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, including customers, business partners, suppliers, co-workers, managers, and the public.
  • Ability to solve complex business problems using sound logic and good judgment.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand instructions given orally, in writing, and in diagram form.
  • Ability to prepare written correspondence and reports which create a professional image for Tuff Shed.
  • Ability to use mathematical, accounting, and financial tools as they apply to Tuff Shed business.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment in an office environment such as a smartphone, computer/tablet, and copier.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in successful business-to-consumer sales (and sales management) in large ticket products preferred.
  • Experience in utilizing Customer Relations Management (CRM) software – including Salesforce or similar systems as preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or requisite experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day performance and outcomes of Sales & Design Consultants (SDCs) in the assigned district, including KPIs.
  • Provide on-the-ground support for sales employees to ensure they achieve lead goals and assist with closing large/complicated sales, including pricing in coordination with the RSD.
  • Conduct periodic employee performance reviews in coordination with RSD.
  • Review pipeline health and CRM usage monthly with SDCs, providing training and coaching as required.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment of all sales personnel in the district, including recruiting, hiring, training, and managing sales team members.
  • Onboard and provide ongoing training and coaching for sales team members within the district.
  • Perform safety training with sales staff and represent the sales team during safety committee meetings, preparing, scheduling, and leading sales safety meetings as required by OSHA guidelines and Tuff Shed.
  • Strategize and manage event planning and execution for local districts.
  • Manage the district dealership program.
  • Review all sales cancellations and take action to prevent the loss of a sale when possible.
  • Ensure all sales staff is running the prescribed company program regarding social media review acquisition and follow up on any irregularities.
  • Work with GM/DM to ensure timely build scheduling, customer service, and communication.
  • Utilize business reporting tools such as Salesforce to review business and sales trends.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings with SDCs.
  • Perform all other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned by Tuff Shed management.
  • Be present in the district as scheduled (including weekends) and work all required hours.
