About The Position

Tuff Shed is hiring for a District Sales Manager Retail (DSM-Retail) to oversee the Southern California territory, which includes Los Angeles, Anaheim, and Escondido. This role is responsible for managing all sales conducted through the retail channel, growing top-line sales, achieving budget goals, and developing the sales team. The DSM-Retail leads and manages retail sales and customer service within their district, ensuring sales objectives are met.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable MVR.
  • Hands-on computer skills in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Internet applications required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, including customers, business partners, suppliers, co-workers, managers, and the public.
  • Ability to solve complex business problems using sound logic and good judgment.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand instructions given orally, in writing, and in diagram form.
  • Ability to prepare written correspondence and reports which create a professional image for Tuff Shed.
  • Ability to use mathematical, accounting, and financial tools as they apply to Tuff Shed business.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment in an office environment such as a smartphone, computer/tablet, and copier.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in successful business-to-consumer sales (and sales management) in large ticket products preferred.
  • Experience in utilizing Customer Relations Management (CRM) software – including Salesforce or similar systems as preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or requisite experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-day performance and outcomes of Sales & Design Consultants (SDC) in the assigned district, including KPIs.
  • Providing on-the-ground support for sales employees to ensure they achieve lead goals and assisting with closing large/complicated sales, including pricing in coordination with the RSD.
  • Conducting periodic employee performance reviews in coordination with the RSD.
  • Reviewing pipeline health and CRM usage at least monthly with SDCs, providing training and coaching as required.
  • Full-cycle recruitment of all sales personnel in the district, including recruiting, hiring, training, and managing sales team members.
  • Onboarding and providing ongoing training and coaching for sales team members within the district.
  • Performing safety training with sales staff and representing the sales team during safety committee meetings, including preparing, scheduling, and leading sales safety meetings as required by OSHA guidelines and Tuff Shed.
  • Event management, including strategizing and managing event planning and execution for local districts.
  • Managing the district dealership program.
  • Reviewing all sales cancellations and taking action to prevent the loss of a sale when possible.
  • Ensuring all sales staff are running the prescribed company program regarding social media review acquisition and following up on any irregularities.
  • Working with the GM/DM to ensure timely build scheduling, customer service, and communication.
  • Utilizing business reporting tools such as Salesforce to review business and sales trends.
  • Conducting regular sales meetings with SDCs.
  • Performing all other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned by Tuff Shed management.
  • Being present in the district as scheduled (including weekends) and working all required hours.
