Distribution Warehouse Associate
About The Position
Big Sandy Superstore is seeking a Distribution Warehouse Associate to support the movement of merchandise between sales and delivery. The role handles furniture and other products with care to support a positive customer experience. Training is provided. The warehouse is described as clean, with a team committed to safety. This full-time, regular position involves unloading, loading, staging, receiving, picking, and warehousing merchandise. Associates follow product-handling and safety procedures, verify order and merchandise information, complete accurate documentation, operate manual and mechanical equipment safely, and maintain a clean work environment.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
- Basic reading and comprehension skills.
- Basic numerical reasoning skills.
- Ability to complete paperwork accurately, neatly, and efficiently.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, push, pull, and repetitively lift cartons weighing approximately 50–100+ pounds.
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Nice To Haves
- Previous material-handling experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Unload, load, stage, and warehouse merchandise.
- Use safe and secure material-handling methods and distribute merchandise according to product-handling standards.
- Verify purchase orders, location numbers, case-pack quantities, and other information before receiving, picking, or loading merchandise.
- Load trailers safely to maximize available space and avoid damage.
- Report errors found on documents to a supervisor.
- Complete documentation neatly and accurately.
- Operate manual and mechanical equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Complete scheduled yearly safety and procedure training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
