About The Position

Big Sandy Superstore is seeking a Distribution Warehouse Associate to handle and move merchandise between the warehouse, sales, and delivery operations. The position supports the customer experience by handling furniture carefully and following product-handling standards. Training is provided, and the warehouse is described as clean, with a team committed to safety.

This full-time, regular position pays $16.00–$17.00 per hour. The associate performs merchandise unloading, loading, staging, and warehousing; uses manual and mechanical equipment safely; completes accurate paperwork; and maintains a safe, clean work environment. Yearly safety and procedure training is required. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
• Basic reading and comprehension skills.
• Basic numerical reasoning skills.
• Ability to complete paperwork accurately, neatly, and efficiently.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, push, pull, and repeatedly lift cartons weighing approximately 50–100+ pounds.
• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Previous material handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Unload, load, stage, and warehouse merchandise.
• Handle materials safely and securely, and distribute merchandise according to product-handling standards.
• Verify purchase orders, location numbers, case-pack quantities, and other information before receiving, picking, or loading merchandise.
• Load trailers safely and efficiently to maximize space and avoid damage.
• Report document errors to a supervisor.
• Complete documentation neatly and accurately.
• Operate manual and mechanical equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Complete scheduled yearly safety and procedure training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
