About The Position

Enova Power Corp. is seeking a Distribution Supervisor for its Operations Department at the Country Squire location. This role involves the supervision of construction, operations, and maintenance of the overhead and underground electrical distribution system across all voltages. The supervisor will direct line crews in both planned and unplanned situations, troubleshoot and restore power during system interruptions, and ensure all work complies with company policies, regulations, and work standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of Mearie Powerline Technician School or equivalent.
  • Certification of Qualification for Powerline Technician (PLT) Ontario Trade Code 434A.
  • Advanced knowledge of IHSA Electrical Utility Safety Rules.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Utility Work Protection Code, EUSA rules, ESA Distribution Safety Regulations, Regulation 22/04 and all other applicable government regulations.
  • Advanced knowledge of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical construction tools, equipment and vehicles used in the line construction trade.
  • Advanced knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
  • Intermediate knowledge of the contents and administration of the collective agreement.
  • Basic knowledge of the Employment Standards Act.
  • 10 plus years in a Powerline Technician role.
  • Valid Class “AZ” or “AZ Restricted” Driver’s License.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 - 3 years’ experience in an Acting Line Supervisor role.
  • Lift Truck Operator Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise construction, operations, and maintenance of the overhead and underground electrical distribution system.
  • Direct line crews in planned and unplanned situations to perform capital and maintenance job functions.
  • Troubleshoot and restore electrical power during system interruptions.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with policies, regulations, and work standards.
  • Counsel and confer with the Distribution Superintendent on day-to-day issues.
  • Provide information and analysis for annual capital expenditures and/or maintenance budgets.
  • Manage staff performance, including hiring, reviews, training, and development.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, best practices, and regulatory rules.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to the department.
  • Ensure daily work assignments are completed efficiently and according to work standards.
  • Review work and reports for accuracy and ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Coordinate the planning, organization, and scheduling of planned work.
  • Ensure staff have appropriate tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Seek continuous improvement and professional knowledge and skills.
  • Interview, hire, train, plan, assign, direct work, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, address complaints, and resolve problems.
  • Ensure employees and contractors follow corporation rules, policies, safety rules, and government regulations.
  • Liaise with other departments to plan work, develop schedules, and confirm required permits, notices, and equipment/materials.
  • Administer the Collective Agreement fairly and reasonably, promoting positive union/management relations.
  • Address labour relations matters expediently and consistently, resolving grievances.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and legislative requirements.
  • Provide leadership for Occupational Health & Safety activities.
  • Conduct safety visits and participate in monthly safety meetings.
  • Complete accident/incident reports and ensure corrective actions are executed.
  • Ensure staff complete cybersecurity awareness training.
  • Monitor, correct, and report inappropriate online behavior.
  • Maintain awareness of data sensitivity and follow security protocols.
