About The Position

Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania is a nonprofit organization that funds job training, education, and community programs through sales of donated clothing and household items in its stores and online.

The Distribution Supervisor oversees all aspects of the Retail Transportation System in Pennsylvania and North Central West Virginia. The position assists District Managers and Store Managers with transportation and distribution of donated and purchased merchandise, ensuring timely pickup and delivery. It provides leadership and direction to staff and supports the development and implementation of policies and procedures to promote and maintain safety. Some travel may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and 4 or more years of experience, or an associate degree and 2 or more years of experience.
• Experience may be in operations management specific to warehousing or distribution, inventory management specific to supply chain or retail stores, or process optimization in an organizational operational role.
• DOT physical.
• 33/34 clearances.

Nice To Haves

• Supervisory experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan work assignments and equipment allocations to meet transportation, operations, and production goals.
• Direct and supervise employees, including assigning employees to specific tasks as needed.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of and comply with organization policies and procedures.
• Review material orders, production schedules, and shipping and receiving records and forms to determine workflow requirements, shipping dates, and destinations.
• Assist with hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and supporting the development of employees in logistics operations.
• Assist District Managers and Store Managers with transportation and distribution of donated and purchased merchandise, ensuring proper and timely pickup and delivery.
• Provide leadership and direction to staff and assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures to promote and maintain safety.
