The Distribution Clerk is responsible for all tasks that involve receiving, storage, charging, and distribution of supplies and equipment. This role involves stocking and replenishment of life-saving code carts and other apparatuses, rotating stock, and removing expired items. The clerk will perform inventory scanning on inpatient units, create and maintain isolation caddies and kits, and handle the pickup, cleaning, and sanitation of hospital equipment according to Joint Commission and infection control standards. Responsibilities also include restocking high-usage supplies, using a pneumatic tube station, and managing computer, verbal, and written transactions. The position requires working with staff of different skill levels, potentially accessing medication storage areas during supply replenishment, and learning to direct inquiries to the appropriate departments. The role involves reading and responding to emails, potentially mentoring new staff, familiarizing oneself with delivery routes, and operating office equipment such as copiers and printers. Additionally, the Distribution Clerk is expected to deliver excellent customer service using the AIDET method.
