The Distribution Clerk is responsible for all tasks that involve receiving, storage, charging, and distribution of supplies and equipment. This role involves stocking and replenishment of life-saving code carts and other apparatuses, rotating stock, and removing expired items. The clerk will perform inventory scanning on inpatient units, create and maintain isolation caddies and kits, and handle the pickup, cleaning, and sanitation of hospital equipment according to Joint Commission and infection control standards. Responsibilities also include restocking high-usage supplies, using a pneumatic tube station, and managing computer, verbal, and written transactions. The position requires working with staff of different skill levels and may involve accessing medication storage areas during supply replenishment. Training will be provided on department phone usage, identifying appropriate departments for specific needs, and responding to emails. The role may also involve mentoring new staff, learning delivery routes, and operating copier and printer machines, as well as Cisco portable and desk phones. Delivering excellent customer service using the AIDET method is also a key part of the role.
