About The Position

OmniCable is seeking a Distribution Center Associate/Warehouse Associate to support warehouse operations and order fulfillment. The primary responsibility is operating production equipment, such as a Rim Drive or re-spooler, to cut wire to predetermined lengths. Associates may also perform other standard order fulfillment tasks, including handling materials, receiving and shipping stock, operating value-add machinery, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.

The work takes place in a distribution center with fluctuating temperatures. The role requires bending, twisting, lifting up to 50 pounds, and standing for up to eight hours a day. Employees must be willing to occasionally work overtime or weekends for additional compensation. Future employees are required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Requirements

• Authorized to work in the United States.
• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills.
• High-energy, dependable, team-oriented attitude and effective communication skills.
• Willingness to occasionally work overtime or weekends for additional compensation.
• Ability to bend, twist, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for up to eight hours a day.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Rim Drive, re-spooler, or other production equipment to cut wire to predetermined lengths.
• Operate forklifts or order pickers to pull and put away stock, process orders, and load and unload trailers.
• Inspect inbound stock for quality, count, and type; verify receipt documentation, including purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading; enter stock information into a computer and prepare inventory for put-away.
• Select shipping methods that meet company requirements and customer expectations; prepare LTL and small-parcel orders; verify that shipments are packed accurately and properly.
• Operate value-add wire machinery, including stripe/dye machines, wire strippers, twisters, and lashing equipment, to fulfill orders.
• Follow job-specific safety standards and complete required equipment checklists.
• Keep the Distribution Center clean and organized and adhere to 5S standards.
