About The Position

CraftCo is seeking a part-time, as-needed Distillery Tour Guide for CraftCo Distillery & Social House in Holland, Michigan. The guide welcomes guests, leads them through the distillery and production areas, shares brand stories and explains how the spirits are made. The role also includes guided tastings and helping guests use the “Fill Your Own” feature to fill and purchase a bottle from a selected barrel.

The guide confirms reservations, checks guests in, answers questions, processes tour payments and bottle purchases, and keeps tour availability and bookings current in FareHarbor. The position receives company-provided training on products, tours, the “Fill Your Own” feature and safe service practices. It is an as-needed opportunity initially expected to average about 1 to 4 hours per week, based on bookings. Availability is coordinated with operations; tours may take place on weekdays, evenings, weekends, or outside regular Social House hours as demand and availability allow.

Requirements

• Enjoy talking with people and be comfortable leading groups, telling stories, and answering questions.
• Be dependable and approachable, and comfortable taking the lead after learning the experience.
• Be curious about spirits and the people and processes behind them.
• Offer availability that aligns with bookings, potentially including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and times outside regular Social House hours.
• Be comfortable learning booking and payment systems and using email and basic digital tools.
• Be able to stand and walk during tours and tastings, move through production areas, and handle bottles and supplies, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Complete company-provided training and any required alcohol service training before independently leading applicable guest activities.
• Have or be able to obtain ServSafe certification within 2 weeks of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Distillery or spirits experience is preferred.
• Experience in hospitality, tours, retail, or customer service is welcome.
• FareHarbor experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Give guests an inside look at the distillery by sharing brand stories and explaining how the spirits are made.
• Welcome guests, confirm reservations, handle check-in, answer questions, and process tour payments and bottle purchases.
• Lead guided tastings that help guests explore flavors and learn about the spirits.
• Introduce guests to the “Fill Your Own” feature, guide them through filling a bottle from a selected barrel using approved procedures, and help complete their purchase.
• Keep tour availability and bookings current in FareHarbor and communicate scheduling changes and guest needs with the Director of Distillery Operations.
• Prepare spaces and supplies before guests arrive, then clean and reset the tour, tasting, and “Fill Your Own” areas.
• Work with operations to guide guests safely through production areas, follow approved routes, and keep groups away from restricted spaces and equipment.
• Follow company procedures and applicable laws for age verification, responsible alcohol service, sanitation, and safety, and promptly raise concerns or report incidents.
• Maintain accurate time and sales records, share guest feedback, and suggest improvements to tours.
