About The Position

Derick Dermatology is an internationally recognized medical practice providing medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology care. The Pharmacy Technician works closely with the Pharmacy Manager and patients to support high-quality care by accurately dispensing medications and handling a variety of pharmacy tasks. The position requires travel to other locations in the zone as needed. The schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts per week, from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, plus one Saturday per month from 6:45 AM to 12:30 PM.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Illinois Pharmacy Technician License required within 30 days of hire if not already obtained.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification required within 150 days of hire if not already obtained.
• Ability to travel to other locations in the zone as needed.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and execute new and refill prescription orders and appropriate formulary substitutions.
• Use WinPharm pharmacy software and systems to label medications and provide them to patients.
• Adjudicate insurance claims.
• Perform point-of-sale operations.
• Monitor and manage inventory.
• Manage and resolve prior authorizations.
• Handle customer service cases.
• Answer patients’ questions about medications and the practice.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
