About The Position

The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and dispatching water trucks and lowboys to ensure efficient transportation of materials and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of construction logistics, equipment operations, and scheduling to maintain smooth project execution.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proven experience in dispatching, logistics, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with Division Managers and field teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to proactively address issues.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Frequent sitting and standing for at least 8 hours per shift.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently, and up to 150 lbs with assistance.
  • Maintain constant alertness to construction site activities and equipment movement.
  • Walk frequently on uneven terrain in varying weather conditions.
  • Safely climb on and off heavy equipment as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the movement of materials and equipment to job sites.
  • Plan efficient routes and schedules for deliveries and hauling.
  • Assign and manage lowboy tractor-trailers, anticipating needs and minimizing empty trips.
  • Assign water trucks to job sites based on project demands.
  • Work closely with Foremen and Superintendents to coordinate equipment pickup and drop-off times.
  • Partner with Superintendents and Foremen to understand project requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external customers.
  • Monitor drivers’ time.
  • Track fuel prices and optimize fuel usage.
  • Obtain bulk water permits and report usage to relevant counties.
  • Order DOT overweight permits for North Carolina and South Carolina.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to dispatching operations.
  • Adapt to changing job site requirements and provide real-time solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet company needs.
