About The Position

Vertex is currently accepting applications for full-time, permanent Dispatcher located in Alida, SK. The successful candidate must have experience dispatching Tank Trucks to various clients on a day to day basis within the oil and gas industry. Responsibilities include setting employee and truck schedules, excellent people and communication skills, trouble shoot equipment problems and provide solutions to customer needs. Position Location: Alida, SK Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off Employer-provided housing available at no cost for employees not local to the area. Requirements

  • Minimum of two years’ relevant Tank Trucks dispatching experience preferably in the fluid hauling management and or trucking industry
  • Strong knowledge of TDG regulations, HOS, weights and dimensions, permitting, load securement and OH&S standards
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team or independently, across multiple functional areas, and with various professional disciplines
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills an asset
  • Superior customer service and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to manage a high volume and fast paced workload
  • Must be able to make decisions calmly and efficiently in high stress environments
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Minimum valid Class 5 driver’s license (clean 3-year abstract); Class 1 license would be added advantage

Nice To Haves

  • Valid WHMIS, H2S Alive, TDG, CSO and Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) or Petroleum Safety Training (PST) considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Arrange schedules for trucks and employees
  • Regularly communicate with employees regarding all transport matters
  • Ability to supervise employees during turn around period
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and provide solutions to customers
  • Review and approve work tickets, logs, time sheets and requested days off for compliance and accuracy
  • Assist Operations Manager on the day-to-day operations of the branch, including but not limited to work on project executions, general inquires, asset utilization, personnel management/supervision and issues related to all service offerings
  • Ensure customer and client satisfaction through exceeding customer expectations
  • Conduct business development activities through building strong relationship with existing clients (client retention and growth) along with new client development
  • Assist Operations Manager to improve and sustain growth in the branch through personnel engagement, operational efficiencies, cost reductions, managing budgets and upgrades of equipment
  • Other duties as assigned required by the manager
