About The Position

The Dispatcher role at Roaring River Feed Mill is a part-time position responsible for managing the scheduling and dispatching of feed loads. This role requires the ability to handle orders, create and maintain feed tickets, and ensure loads are distributed evenly among drivers while adhering to DOT regulations. The position also involves communicating effectively with Service Techs, Growers, Customers, and Vendors, and maintaining good working relationships. The Dispatcher must be adaptable to changing priorities and work environments, including hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold conditions, with exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather. The role requires adherence to all Tyson policies, safety protocols, and biosecurity guidelines, including avoiding avian species. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 60 lbs (or up to 100 lbs with assistance) and sustain physical activity throughout the day, including standing, sitting, walking, and climbing ladders/stairs. The position is part-time, with shifts on Saturdays and Sundays from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm, and may require holiday, weekend, and flexible hour work as needed.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Ability to read and write in order to receive and document orders.
  • Ability to schedule loads of feed by creating and organizing feed tickets and maintaining them for record keeping.
  • Ability to dispatch loads of feed and distribute them evenly among driver/team members within DOT rules and regulations.
  • Ability to answer calls from Service Techs and Growers while maintaining a good working relationship with them.
  • Ability to organize/flex task and change priorities throughout the day.
  • Able to work in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments. Heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather.
  • Ability to work holidays, weekends, and flexible hours as required based on demand scheduling.
  • Ability to work in elevated areas and follow all safety procedures.
  • Able to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guildelines including an agreement to avoid any avian species.
  • Maintain good housekeeping including service areas.
  • Communicate to all levels of Operations including Customers and Vendors both orally and in writing where required.
  • Follow and Operate within all Tyson Health and Safety protocols.
  • Able to Lift up to 60 lbs. and/or up to 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Stand, Sit, Walk, Climb Ladder/Stairs with the ability to sustain physical activity throughout the day.
