About The Position

The Feed Mill Dispatcher is responsible for scheduling and dispatching loads of feed, ensuring efficient distribution among drivers while adhering to DOT regulations. This role involves managing feed tickets, maintaining records, and communicating effectively with Service Techs, Growers, Customers, and Vendors. The position requires the ability to work in various environmental conditions, including hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments, with potential for heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather. The dispatcher must also be able to work holidays and weekends as needed, operate forklifts, and maintain good housekeeping. Adherence to Tyson Health and Safety protocols and Biosecurity Guidelines is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skill
  • Ability to certify and maintain PIT Certification
  • Ability to certify as a Weigh Master
  • Ability to achieve and maintain respirator certification where applicable (ability be clean shaven)
  • Valid Class D License where applicable
  • Clerical experience and/or dispatch experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of DOT trucking procedures preferred.
  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • Willing to work in an outside environment that will fluctuate according to the conditions outside at the time; cold, warm, dusty, and/or damp environment with a high concentration of allergens present in a poultry house.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Abide by company biosecurity guidelines including an agreement to avoid owning and being around any avian species.
  • Complete the final task that is separate from the application.
  • Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days.
  • If you have worked at Tyson 3 times or more you will not be eligible for rehire.
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Read and write in order to receive and document orders.
  • Schedule loads of feed by creating and organizing feed tickets and maintaining them for record keeping.
  • Dispatch loads of feed and distribute them evenly among driver/team members within DOT rules and regulations.
  • Answer calls from Service Techs and Growers while maintaining a good working relationship with them.
  • Organize/flex tasks and change priorities throughout the day.
  • Work in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments. Heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather.
  • Work holidays, weekends, and flexible hours as required based on demand scheduling.
  • Work in elevated areas and follow all safety procedures.
  • Sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guidelines including an agreement to avoid any avian species.
  • Maintain good housekeeping including service areas.
  • Communicate to all levels of Operations including Customers and Vendors both orally and in writing where required.
  • Follow and Operate within all Tyson Health and Safety protocols.
  • Lift up to 60 lbs. and/or up to 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Stand, Sit, Walk, Climb Ladder/Stairs with the ability to sustain physical activity throughout the day.
  • Complete all other tasks assigned by management.
  • Operate forklifts as well as other duties.
