About The Position

This position is responsible for entry-level non-skilled general labor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Tasks include cleaning up spilled feed, assisting with loading and unloading feed trucks, and any other duties as assigned by management, such as cleaning and shoveling pits and the scale area. This position also requires learning all positions to cover for vacations and absentees.

Requirements

Must be willing to work flexible hours, such as rotating shifts, some weekends, and most holidays
Must be able to stand and walk on concrete floors 5 to 7 days per week, 8 to 10 hours a day
Must be willing to use an 8 to 12 lb. sledgehammer
Must be willing to climb ladders and stairs
Must be willing to work in an elevated area
Must be willing to use an elevator
Must be capable of being certified to operate receiving equipment: forklifts, bobcats, tractors, and pallet jacks
Must be willing to participate in team efforts
Must be able to work in a climate ranging from extreme cold to extreme hot
Must also be willing to work in a dusty non-toxic environment
Must be willing to follow Mill Safety rules at all times
Must wear required PPE ear protection
Able to work in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments
Heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather
Able to Lift up to 60 lbs. and/or up to 100 lbs with assistance
The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days

Responsibilities

Cleaning up spilled feed
Assisting with loading and unloading feed trucks
Cleaning and shoveling pits and scale area
Learning all positions to cover for vacations and absentees
Sweeping and cleaning assigned areas of the mill
Helping and assisting with ingredients unloading activities like unloading of rail car/trucks
Performing ground keeping duties including using landscaping equipment such as mowers and trimmers
Using and maintaining air driver equipment like blow guns to assist in cleaning activities
Using high-pressure water hoses to wash down and clean areas of the feed mill
Using PIT to move pallets of ingredients
Communicating to all levels of Operations including Customers and Vendors both orally and in writing where required
Following and Operating within all Tyson Health and Safety protocols
Standing, Sitting, Walking, Climbing Ladder/Stairs with the ability to sustain physical activity throughout the day
Maintaining good housekeeping including service areas
Signing and abiding by the Company Biosecurity Guidelines including an agreement to avoid any avian species
Completing all other tasks assigned by management
